Treat Your Dog with this Easy-to-Make Recipe

Dogs will do anything for these treats!

A super-easy recipe that is sure to please even the most delicate canine pallet.

Peanut Butter Biscuits

Lots of dogs love peanut butter, so what could be a better way of showing your love than with peanut butter biscuits? They're super-easy to make and your dogs will love you for it.

1 cup hot water
1 cup nonfat dried milk
1 cup organic peanut butter
1 cage-free egg, beaten
1 cup sorghum flour
4 cups oat-flour

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour hot water on nonfat dried milk and mix in peanut butter and egg. Mix in cornmeal and oat-flour. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead, adding more flour if necessary to create a stiff dough.

2. Roll out to 1/2" and cut with bone cookie cutters. Place on a baking sheet and bake 20 to 30 minutes or until brown along the edges. Let cool and harden.

Please remember that these treats are not intended to be your dog's only food but part of a healthy and holistic diet.

When you do make treats for your dog, be sure to make enough of them but also remember that because you are not using preservatives that it is a good idea to store your treats in the refrigerator or even the freezer to prevent them from spoiling or getting moldy. You can keep hard treats for at least six months in the freezer; if you keep them in the refrigerator, they go stale in about two weeks.

For those of you who either don't have time or are out of treats and you have a furry friend that is begging you for something, keep in mind that cut celery and carrots can do in a pinch. Most dogs love carrots and celery and because they don't have many calories, they can be fed to your dog without too much worry.

Until next time, remember that every good dog deserves a treat.
