The Importance of Regular Dog Grooming
03/31/2008 - By Jennifer Jarvis
Grooming is one of the many ways we show our pets we care.
Why to keep up with dog grooming.
Grooming not only helps to keep your dog fresh and tangle-free but provides an essential bonding time between you and your pet. Daily brushing is an essential part of your dog’s hygiene as it promotes a healthy coat and healthy skin. Don’t forget that brushing also reduces shedding!
Trimming your dog’s toenails regularly is also very important as long nails tend to be very uncomfortable for dogs when they are walking. Any kind of favoring a dog may do could potentially lead to leg and or muscle complications. Most importantly, blunter toe nails lead to less painful scratching both on you and your furniture.
Another important benefit of regular grooming is that it often allows you to discover abnormalities that you might not have otherwise discovered. Prevention in animal care is crucial and with regular grooming you or your groomer can help your Veterinarian in this task.
Happy Grooming!
